Curtis Slater is a former D-II player from West Texas A&M Univerisity. He has previous experience from Europe, as he has represented Marburg Mercenaries and Hamburg Huskies in German Football League. Curtis joined Roosters in March 2016.
174 centimeters tall and weighing 84 kilograms Slater might not be the biggest player on the field, but he is known for his explosiveness and ability to read offenses. On his last year with West Texas A&M he started in all 14 games and recorded 5 interceptions and 114 total tackles, thus being the second most productive defensive player of the team. During his years in Germany for Marburg Mercenaries and Hamburg Huskies, and Curtis was an excellent import player for both of these teams. During the 2014 season Slater had 10 interceptions – leading the league – and ended up being one of the league’s top 10 tacklers in both seasons. In 2015 Slater also participated in IFAF World Cup playing for United States and winning the World Championship in Canton, Ohio.
