Beating the Kuopio Steelers was an important step towards securing home-field advantage for the playoffs. The offensive unit as a whole really stepped up last week. We were able to run the ball successfully, which says a lot about our offensive line’s aggressiveness and soundness. Pajarinen and Greenfield showed incredible determination, refusing to go down easily, and our receivers did an outstanding job blocking downfield.
There is room to improve, of course. Generally, we need to start games better. When our special teams give us great field position, we need to deliver. And although we mainly attacked on the ground, we missed some opportunities in the passing game.
Looking ahead, we’ve got a big challenge this week against the Seinäjoki Crocodiles. They’ve got a strong defensive front and just signed another import linebacker.
The team also gained some momentum with their overtime win against the Steelers. This will be our first Saturday game, so we hope this draws a big crowd as two great teams square off!
