It’s always good to beat a team on their home field, and the win against Porvoo secured our spot at the top of the standings. As expected, Porvoo came out aggressively, and it was a tough battle until the end. We didn’t play our best offensively at times, but it was great to see some of our young guys step up when it mattered most. Lassi Pajarinen’s tough running in the fourth quarter boosted our whole team’s morale. Rene Rautiainen and Tarmo Pitkänen both had crucial catches that kept drives alive. And of course, Artturi Tähkäpää caught the game-winner. This is the strength of our team: we have playmakers everywhere, and everyone is ready to contribute when their number is called.
For the final game of the regular season, we’re heading to Vaasa on Thursday. We played Vaasa in our season opener, and a lot has changed on their defense. They play with a five-men defensive line and switched out their defensive imports since we last saw them. It will be an exciting game, and both teams will be playing with Finnish quarterbacks.
